Louis Mulcahy Pottery: Make your own pot
During the “Pottery experience” the visitor will meet the potter, learn what is involved in creating your own little vase, pot or bowl and get a “hands on” experience. Marie and Susie, our main potters, have over 20 years’ experience in the craft of “throwing”. They will discuss the shape in which you will be able to create, show you examples and then help you centre the clay on the wheel. With their guidance you will learn how to throw your very own shape. Once your piece is made, it will be removed from the wheel and will be available for you to bring home or you can leave it at the workshop in the hands of the experienced staff. Once your pot is dry, it will be bisque fired and later glazed in our blue glaze. The pot can then be shipped to your home – anywhere in the world!
Following time for questions, visitors are welcome to browse in the shop or enjoy a coffee in the café upstairs.
Group bookings only apply for groups of 10 or more. There is no need to book if you are a group of less than 10. Please see opening times below.
